August 27, 2020On 27 February 2020, LSE Director Dame Minouche Shafik visited Athens and participated as a distinguished speaker in the Athens Lecture Series, organised by the LSE Hellenic Observatory, the National Bank of Greece and the Hellenic Alumni Association of LSE. Dame Minouche Shafik had an open discussion with Mr. Kostas P. Michaelides, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Greece on "Where is the world economy going and what can we do about it?", where they focused on the global economy and the challenges facing globalization due to the recent coronavirus boom.
Prior to the event, the LSE Hellenic Alumni Association in collaboration with LSE and the LSE Hellenic Observatoty hosted a cocktail for the alumni, where participants had the opportunity to meet and discuss with Dame Minouche Shafik.
